How to reset sync when you wish to sync a different desktop library with your online account,
or when there are issues with the existing synced library
(Creating a backup compressed library in advance is recommended)
- Open an EndNote library
- Edit > Preferences > Sync > Uncheck Sync Automatically
- Close EndNote
- Open EndNote Online (https://my.endnote.com), sign in, and delete all references and folders
- Open the EndNote library you want to sync
- Edit > Preferences > Sync > Add #!resetLocalSync to the end of your e-mail address
- Click Apply, and then click OK
- Library > Sync > Click OK on the popup window > Click OK again on the next popup window
- Restart EndNote
- Edit > Preferences > Sync > Remove #!resetLocalSync from the end of your e-mail address, and check Sync Automatically
- Click Apply, and then click OK
- Library > Sync > Click OK on the popup window
- Create a backup compressed library (recommended)
- Sync will begin
