  1. Go to the Turnitin website, and click on the "Create Account" button at the top right.
  2. Click on the "Student" link in the Create a User Profile page.
  3. Enter the Class ID and Class enrollment key. To get the ID and key for the SNU class created by the library:
    SNU Library Homepage > Databases > "T" > Turnitin → Click "Shortcuts"
  4. Enter your first name, last name, SNU e-mail address, and create your password.
    Entering your SNU e-mail address will confirm that you are a member of SNU.
  5. Check the reCAPTCHA box to verify that you are not a robot.
  6. Click on "I Agree -- Create Profile"

  1. After creating your account, go back to the Turnitin main page, and click on the "Login" button at the top right.
  2. Enter your SNU e-mail address and password to sign in.
    To modify your user information and account settings, click on the "User Info" button on your Turnitin homepage.

  1. Click the class name "Seoul National University 2020" on your Turnitin homepage.
  2. On the class homepage, click on the "Submit" button to the right of an assignment for a similarity check. There will be 10 assignments in the inbox. The assignments are all independent, so if you upload a file to the first assignment, then upload a revision to the second assignment, the revised text will not be compared against the original uploaded to the first one.
    If you submit your file to the 10th assignment in the inbox, the file will be saved to the Turnitin database. If you have done so, and want your file to be removed from the database, please contact the SNUL Turnitin administrator: libserv@snu.ac.kr

  1. On the Single File Upload page, enter the submission title, and choose the file you want to upload.
    For the "Cut & Paste Upload" option, you can copy the text of your work and paste it into the content box.
  2. Click the "Upload" button, check your file information, then click the "Confirm" button to complete the submission.
    - File types allowed for single file upload:
      Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, WordPerfect, PostScript, PDF,
      HTML, RTF, OpenOffice (ODT), Hangul (HWP), Google Docs, and plain text
    - File should be less than 100MB, should have at least 20 words of text
    - Maximum length is 800 pages

  • You will be able to see the Similarity Report immediately after a submission. Click the percentage under the Similarity column to access the report.
  • After you have submitted a file to an assignment, the "Submit" button will read "Resubmit," and you will be able to upload other files to the same assignments for review.
  • After three resubmissions to the same assignment, you will have to wait 24 hours after another resubmission to see the Similarity Report.
  • You can click on the "View" button to view the uploaded file.
  • Click on the download button next to the "View" button to download the uploaded file, or the digital receipt for the submission. The digital receipt acts as a confirmation that Turnitin has received your file.

  1. On the Login page, click the "Click here" link next to "Forgot your password?"
  2. Enter your e-mail address and last name.
  3. Select your language from the dropdown list, and answer the secret question that you set when you created your account.
  4. Enter your new password on the reset page, and click "Next" to complete the process.
